Stay Informed & Get Involved

Looking to shape the plan now?

The Borough has published the Raritan Residents and Businesses Owner Community Survey or, if you live or work in the region, please take our Regional Survey. These surveys will allow you to share what you like or dislike about the downtown; where you see opportunities for future growth and development; what you think about transportation choices and mobility access and what might be improved, among other topics.

Register for an Online Meeting with project staff to discuss how you’d like to see Raritan become more sutainable.

Residents, business owners, and stakeholders are encouraged to give input and collaborate on the creation of the Sustainable Economic Development Plan. You can always come back here to find out about the next opportunity to get involved. We also suggest that you use the mailing list sign up form below which will allow you to get information about upcoming events, opportunities for public comment and project updates.

Opportunities for Collaboration and Engagement

Stakeholder Interviews

The consultant team has conducted group interviews with more than a dozen residents, business owners, Borough officials, representatives from local community groups and faith-based organizations, among others.

Surveys

The Borough has published the Raritan Residents and Businesses Owner Community Survey or, if you live or work in the region, please take our Regional Survey. These surveys will allow you to share what you like or dislike about the downtown; where you see opportunities for future growth and development; what you think about transportation choices and mobility access and what might be improved, among other topics.

Community Visioning Workshop

The Borough will hold an online workshop that will be highly participatory and allow you to shape the plan. You will be able to participate in activities at your own pace and from anywhere you have internet access. There will also be online “working studios” where you can discuss the project with the consultant team.

Demonstration Project

The Borough will be sponsoring a demonstration project, which is a temporary way of showing what one of the plan’s potential recommendations could look like if implemented. Seeing the recommendation in action gives you an opportunity to provide feedback about what is and is not working, before more substantial investments are made.

Draft Comments

Documents will be released for public comment. This will give you an opportunity to provide direct feedback on the plan and ordinances.

Public Hearings

The consultant team will make up to three presentations at meetings of the Borough Council, Municipal Land Use Board, Economic Development Commission, or other board or council the Borough deems necessary. Attendance at these meetings will allow you to get key project updates as well as provide an opportunity to give feedback to board members and/or elected officials.
